Team Spirit Analyst Discusses His Role on the Team

Anatoly “Clife” Averkov stated that his responsibilities include analyzing the new game mechanics of Counter-Strike 2 and opponents’ gameplay at the request of Team Spirit players.

The team’s analyst discussed this on YouTube.

“Sometimes the guys come to me, but it doesn’t happen that often—not before every match. The players don’t always have time. They need a break; they don’t always manage to review everything.

They’ll send me some requests, saying, ‘Tolyan, we need to review this.’ They’re mostly interested in how the opponent plays on their specific map site. That’s the kind of request I usually get. Of course, there are some custom and interesting requests, like tracking how many times someone went where, or if a smoke grenade landed at a certain spot. That’s the kind of pattern we track.

Or maybe some players would come and ask us to look at how they’re playing at a specific spot, to track certain patterns or something else. So, a wide variety of tasks. Some people need to find a grenade that’s, let’s say, more convenient for them—so they can look through the scope instead of getting distracted and running off to the lineup for a grenade that’s being thrown from the respawn point—and so they can just grab it and throw it where they need to, making it faster.

According to Anatoly “Clife” Averkova, Team Spirit players often message him with various requests when they can’t figure something out on their own. The analyst also sometimes selects gear and weapons that the players are comfortable with. Clife also noted that players reach out to him with such requests quite often.
