William "Blitz" Lee, the coach of
Team Liquid, stated that Neta "33" Shapira left the team not due to conflicts but because
Tundra Esports offered the player the chance to build his own roster from scratch.
This statement was made on Team Liquid's official page on X (Twitter).
"I think people will have assumptions that we didn't see eye to eye on Dota or on an interpersonal level, but that's not the case at all. Neta has repeatedly said that he was incredibly happy, and it was his best professional season ever, but he wanted to build a team from the ground up. We felt that Neta brought incredible work ethic and professionalism to our team, instilled a lot of confidence, and was very well-loved by all of us"
It was noted that even after the Riyadh Masters 2024, the esports player spoke to his teammates about his ambitions to assemble his own team and lead it to success. For this reason,
Team Liquid agreed to the transfer, as they respect their captain's wishes and wish him well.
Blitz emphasized that there were no conflicts in viewpoints or anything of the sort within the team; this was 33's personal desire. It seems that
Tundra Esports provided him the opportunity to assemble his roster independently.
Recall that it was previously announced that 33 returned to
Tundra Esports a year later, despite his success with
Team Liquid at The International 2024.
