Danny “zonic” Sorensen, coach of
Team Falcons, forbade his Counter-Strike 2 roster from playing on FACEIT until BLAST Open Spring 2026, so they can focus on team practice.
He said this in an interview with Dust2 portal.
“But we need players to play more for the team, when it really matters. Especially in important matches. So I decided to make some changes. No one was allowed to play FACEIT for a week, until we arrived to Denmark. I think playing FACEIT creates bad habits”
The coach believes that frequent FACEIT games can be harmful and build wrong habits for pro players. Zonic noted that players were not happy with this decision, but still followed the restriction.
“There was a lot of dissatisfaction about this, but it is what it is. Players just need to be able to show that in important matches they can make right decisions. Because during practice I dont see these mistakes. I mean we make mistakes of course, but some mistakes we did in official matches just cant happen on this level”
According to him, this decision should have a positive effect on the team preparation. He also said that focusing on team practice helps players make better decisions in official matches, while FACEIT games often develop bad habits.
