Curtis "Aui_2000" Ling, the coach of
Team Falcons, stated that he asked the players not to interact with Alexander "Nix" Levin due to his ongoing criticism of the team members and his use of racist remarks.
He shared this in a blog post on Medium.
"Nix crossed the line when he used racial stereotypes to attack Ammar. I don’t want our team to support people who attack our teammates in such a way (in my opinion, creating content and giving interviews is a form of support, which is a bit hypocritical of me since I'm also giving him attention).
There’s a clear difference between criticizing Dota as an analyst (which, by the way, I’ve never commented on before, even though I often thought he was wrong) and offensive, racially-based personal attacks. Ammar said he doesn’t care about the words, but I do, which is why I asked my team to avoid him. I’m not calling for any punishment, just explaining why, as a coach, I don’t want my team interacting with Nix"
Aui_2000 highlighted that
Team Falcons had repeatedly encountered situations where the streamer and former pro player actively criticized Oliver "Skiter" Lepko. The coach disagrees with Nix’s stance, pointing out that he overlooks internal team dynamics and Skiter’s impact. Likely, this refers to comments where Nix described Skiter as the team's weakest link, being carried by other players.
However, the main reason for the request to avoid Nix was his comments directed at Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf. Aui_2000 called Nix’s statements racist, which was the final straw. The coach was likely referring to the stream where Nix compared the player to a "shawarma vendor". Additionally, Aui_2000 clarified that there was no official ban on interaction with Nix; it was his personal request to the players. Previously, Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potork mentioned that he wouldn’t interact with Nix due to this request.
