Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, the offlaner for Team Falcons, claimed that Valve deliberately weakened their roster after a series of victories in major tournaments, which prevented them from winning The International 2024.

The esports player shared this during an interview with Esports.ru.

"Losing in two major tournaments was painful, but it was predictable. Usually, teams that win big tournaments before The International lose their form, and everyone tries to take them down as quickly as possible. It seems even Valve notices this and weakens such teams, even if it's not always justified"

The player explained that Valve allegedly has a history of doing this, claiming that the Dota 2 developers intentionally weaken teams that win multiple tournaments shortly before The International. ATF didn’t specify how Valve might have weakened the team, but he likely referred to changes in the meta that didn’t suit Team Falcons.

The Dota 2 developers have yet to respond to this bold statement from the famous esports player.

It’s also worth mentioning that another Team Falcons player, Andreas "Cr1t-" Franck Nielsen, pointed out issues within the team that have contributed to their losses.
