Jingjun ‘Sneyking’ Wu stated that
Team Falcons showed a poor understanding of the meta at the Riyadh Masters 2024. The team will work on their mistakes and prepare for the upcoming tournament The International 2024 with the hope of a better result.
The cyber athlete shared his respective opinion in a post-match interview on the Twitch broadcast of the tournament.
‘I have flashbacks of our mistakes in my head. I feel I made quite a few of them during the game. Maybe there were some problems in the draft as well.
Obviously, it's frustrating. What we need to figure out is where we went wrong.
But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. So we need to shake things up and perform better at TI13.
We didn't perform as well as we wanted to. I think understanding meta wasn't the best on our part. Especially buying auras. Liquid was taking Pipe of Insight, Crimson Guard and Guardian Graves and forcing fights we couldn't win. I think that's our biggest mistake.
Now we're going to go home and reboot. We had a fortnight's bootcamp before Riyadh. We'll take a little break, then we'll have a bootcamp where we'll prepare for TI.’
Team Falcons left Riyadh Masters 2024 in third place after losing to
Team Liquid in the lower grid final. It is worth noting that the team faced a series of setbacks on the first day of the tournament, losing both matches against
Team Spirit and
Gaimin Gladiators. Third place at the Riyadh Masters 2024 brought $600,000 to
Team Falcons' budget.
Earlier, the lineup's carry Oliver ‘Skiter’ Lepko admitted that the team was on the verge of elimination in the match against
PSG Quest.
