Avery "SVG" Silverman, a Dota 2 legend, stated that the game is dying, and Ringmaster is proof of this, as it took Valve almost two years to develop a standard hero.
The streamer and former esports player shared this during an interview for Not For Broadcast.
"It's a failure. If your reaction is, 'This is just an ordinary standard hero, nothing special about it.' Is this what they’ve been working on for two years? Dota is dead. This is the end. Ringmaster is the final nail in the coffin"
According to him, Ringmaster is a sign of the situation in Dota 2. If it took Valve this long to develop a standard hero, it could indicate that the game is no longer receiving the resources it once did.
He believes that the new hero doesn’t stand out compared to others and is therefore extremely surprised that it took so long to create Ringmaster, as the hero's release was expected much earlier.
It's worth noting that Valve previously called The International 2024 historic, as something like this is happening for the first time in 13 years.
