SumaiL Named the Player Who Made Him Change His Mind About Retiring

Sumail “Sumail” Hassan stated that he abandoned his plans to retire thanks to Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk.

The player made this statement on Twitch.

“To be honest, I thought that after Team Spirit’s third win at TI, it would all be over for me. But actually, the opposite happened. Yatoro simply inspired me. He’s still pretty young and still has that fire in his eyes that keeps him going.

I talked to my friends and family and realized that I really should keep playing. Especially if I can put together a team I truly believe in. So there was no point in stopping—and here we are again.”

Acording to Sumail “Sumail” Hassan, Team Spirit’s third TI victory this year inspired him, even though he had expected the opposite effect. The esports player saw a lot of motivation in the legendary carry’s eyes, after which he decided to abandon his plans to end his career, as he saw an opportunity to achieve significant success by putting together a team he could believe in.

As a reminder, ahead of The International 2026, the esports player had stated that this tournament could be the last of his career.
