Stray228 criticized the current Dota 2 meta

Oleg “Stray228” Bocharov believes that the problem with the current Dota 2 meta is that players use a limited number of heroes.

The streamer made this statement on Twitch.

“There are now more than 120 heroes in Dota, but you understand that the game's best times were during the fifth, sixth, and seventh The International tournaments. Back then, the drafts were as diverse as possible — there were more than a hundred characters that were actually playable. Yes, some heroes weren't picked, but there were literally only 5-7 of them.”

According to the content creator, in the meta of previous patches, players ignored a small number of heroes, but now the community ignores most of the 120 characters, playing approximately 40 of them. This feature of the meta makes team drafts monotonous.

" And now it's all the same: the same drafts, the same bans. Seven bans on each side — that's already 14 heroes. Plus 10 picks — a total of 24. Add about 15–16 situational, “party” heroes, and it turns out that there are actually about 40 characters in the pool.

40 out of 120! That's the problem. I don't like Dota like that. I want more variety in the picks."

Let us remind you that earlier, Oleg “Stray228” Bocharov expressed his opinion on the quality of the Dota 2 event “Quartero's Curios.”
