Khaled “Sqreen” El-Khabbash believes that the organizers of DreamLeague Season 27 Dota 2 tournament have allocated too much time for the group stage matches, which has led to long breaks between games.
The streamer made this statement on Telegram.
“I look at the breaks between games and the time the organizers allocate for them, and a logical conclusion comes to mind: this is outdated. Now, on average, games last 30-40 minutes, especially in the group stages, where unequal opponents play. Giving 3 hours for one bo3 is a big mistake.”
Acording to Khaled “Sqreen” El-Khabbash, since the teams are already at boot camps exclusively for the tournament, the organizers should not have allocated a fixed time for the matches, but simply held the games one after another as they were completed. The commentator also believes that even with a fixed schedule, the organizers should have alocated shorter time intervals for the matches.
"I don't understand why you would play on a fixed schedule when you can do a follow-by, since the teams are at boot camp purely for this tournament anyway. But if you really want to, you can at least make a 2-2.5 hour interval between games — in most cases, this will be enough, and in the exceptions where it is not, it's no big deal, the teams will wait."
Recall that earlier Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash responded to criticism from Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko, accusing the player of being toxic.
