Shopify Rebellion announced the disbandment of the team and the closure of the Dota 2 division due to a lack of results on the pro scene.
The organization reported this on its official page in X (formerly Twitter).
It is noted that all members of the team have become free agents and can now look for new teams. At the same time, it is emphasized that the Dota 2 division may be reopened in the future, but no specific dates are given.
The club explained that the reason for this decision was the lack of high results on the professional scene, but at the same time, the players were not blamed. The legendary Artur "Arteezy" Babaev, who played for
Shopify Rebellion for a long time, has not yet commented on the unexpected decision of the organization.
Former Shopify Rebellion roster:
Enzo "Timado" Gianoli
Erin "Yopaj" Ferrer
Cedric "Davai Lama" Dekmin
Kirill "Hellscream" Lagutik
Andre "skem" Ong
Kanishka "BuLba" Sosailtz (coach)
Many analysts note that such an outcome was predictable: in 2.5 years of existence, the team was unable to win a single tier-1 tournament. Moreover, in 2025, SR failed to even make it to the playoff stage.
Recall that
OG previously lost 3 million euros, and the legendary club risks ceasing to exist.
