Save Reveals the Real Reason Behind His Move to Mid

Vitaly “Save-” Melnik stated that he decided to move to mid after two top-4 finishes at The International. The esports player decided it was time to try his hand at a new role.

The player discussed this on Twitch.

“I’d been thinking about trying something new for many years, but I never had the opportunity. Every year, my results in the fourth position improved, so I figured there was no point in changing anything if things were going well anyway.

Now, for the second year in a row, I’ve finished in the top 4 at The International. I thought, ‘Well, maybe the time has come.’ I’ve had five chances to win TI. I wanted to try something new in my life. We’ll see how it goes. Maybe I’ll mess up and go back to playing in the fourth position. Or maybe not. We’ll see.”

According to Vitaly “Save-” Melnik, the esports player had been considering a role change for several years in a row, but his improved results in the fourth position motivated him to continue playing as a support. Nevertheless, the player decided to make a career change after five unsuccessful attempts to win The International.

As a reminder, Vitaly “Save-” Melnik previously discussed the approach he would take when first playing in his new position.
