Sam Mowry, who introduced Dota 2 to the world, has passed away: players are mourning

Samuel Alexander Mowry, the voice actor who is remembered for his iconic quotes as different characters in Dota 2 has died aged 64.

Fans are mourning the death of the famous actor on Reddit as announced.

The cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest during operation preparation because of arteriosclerosis. The shopkeeper in The Lab mini-game including Secret Shop and many other characters like Anti-Mage, Slardar, Beastmaster, Clockwerk, Necrophos and Warlock were the well known to Dota 2 fans voiced by Mowry.

One of his most memorable roles was dubbing Gamescom 2011 trailer which introduced many players to Dota’s second edition.

It is worth noting that Mowry was not only known for his work on Dota 2. In addition to his voice acting career, he also performed in theater and participated in radio plays.
