Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, the support of
Team Yandex, said that Valve needs to fix the situation with the Dota 2 map, because players on the Dire side have the possibility to block the camp, while Radiant players can almost never deward it.
The world champion shared his suggestion on the club’s Telegram channel.
“Sentry on the small camp on Dire. It’s strange that on the safelane you can put a ward from the side so that it blocks the camp. Radiant can almost never deward it — the mechanic feels unfair”
What the problem is:
On the Dire safelane (bottom lane) there is a small neutral camp. It can be blocked with a sentry ward by placing it from the side, in a spot that Radiant can barely deward.
Why it’s hard to deward:
Vision from the lane is bad;
Getting to the perfect spot is hard;
The ward is quite far and behind the trees;
But it still blocks the camp spawn.
Why this feels unfair:
Dire can easily place this block ward;
Radiant almost doesn’t have access to that hidden spot — it’s hard to find it without unbeliavable precision;
Radiant has no symmetrical point for a similar trick.
Saksa believes that such map asymmetry is unfair and gives one side an advantage. In his opinion, Valve should rework the Dota 2 map and equalize the possibilities for both teams.
