Saberlight has created an unstoppable build that's nearly impossible to counter

A new offlane powerhouse has emerged on the professional Dota 2 scene — Axe, played by Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek. The hero has rapidly surged into the meta in patch 7.39c and is now a nightmare for carries of any level.

With a 54% win rate, Axe has firmly established himself as one of the best offlane picks. The success of this build lies in its lane stability, powerful initiation via Berserker's Call, and synergy with the reworked One Man Army aspect, which enhances the hero when no allies are nearby.

He performs especially well against healing heroes — an early Spirit Vessel and the core item Blink Dagger let Axe jump into fights quickly and secure early kills.

After picking up a Black King Bar, the hero becomes almost immune to control effects, while Aghanims Shard turns him into a nearly unstoppable force by enhancing two of his core abilities. The build also capitalizes on key talents at levels 10, 15, 20, and 25, adding bonus damage, armor, and movement speed from Battle Hunger.

Countering this Axe is nearly impossible — there are only about 3–4 heroes who can match his tempo, and just a handful of items that can effectively deal with his toolkit.
