Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosyan believes that The International 2024 will be worse than previous Dota 2 world championships due to the low number of matches.
The esports athlete shared this during a Twitch stream.
"There used to be more games on stage. Viewers and players enjoyed that. Even I played a bo1 on stage in the lower bracket for Empire in 2017. And it was awesome. You performed poorly in groups, but you still play a bo1 on stage. That's why it's worth striving hard for. But Valve and PGL think that 3 days of playoffs on stage is enough. That's their policy. And it's not good"
According to him, reducing the number of matches will negatively impact the tournament, disappointing both players and viewers of the main esports event for Dota 2.
Earlier, Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov surprised everyone with a statement about The International 2024, comparing it to the Riyadh Masters.
