Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev, the captain of
L1ga Team, talked about a significant drop in the matchmaking quality after Valve's decision to ban smurf accounts. According to him, playing Dota 2 has become nearly impossible at times.
The esports player explained the issue faced by professional players during a Twitch stream.
"Matchmaking has turned into **** after they cut down on smurfs. Games are of a very low level. You either crush someone in 20 minutes or lose with a score of 1-30 in 20 minutes. I don't know what's going on. I think it's not just my opinion. We can conduct a poll among pro players"
RAMZES666 mentioned that he doesn't exactly understand the reason for such a disparity, but he assumes it's somehow related to the smurf bans. It's worth noting that Valve carried out a massive wave of bans, blocking thousands of additional accounts, including those of professional players.
Valve has not commented on the situation yet, but the smurf ban situation has indeed divided the community into two camps. Some professional players have positively assessed the complete ban on the use of additional accounts, while others have noted that they now have to wait for a game for about an hour.
