Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, the
Gaimin Gladiators midfielder, has admitted that he has once again become incredibly nervous before matches and literally cannot play due to mental stress.
He revealed this during an interview with TAVERNA.GG publication.
“I tend to have VERY high anxiety and excitement before games. In the early years when I was still playing for OpTic and so on, I literally couldn't breathe before matches. I was getting chills, constantly running to the bathroom, couldn't concentrate - my head was a mess. It paralyzed me and exhausted me, I physically couldn't play properly”
Quinn admitted that he was prone to anxiety from the start of his pro playing career, and even literally couldn't breathe properly at tournaments. He struggled with it and found a way to deal with it, but admitted that he's back to his former state. According to midlaner, his methods no longer work and he feels terrible mentally before games again.
“And I always thought, 'I'm anxious - so I need to calm myself down'. I tried meditation, breathing practices, calming music and sounds - everything I could think of. But nothing worked. So I thought, “What if I tried it the other way around? Maybe I need to get angry instead of calm?” I tried it - and suddenly it really worked. And I started doing it regularly. Until at some point it stopped working again”
Recall that earlier Quinn surprised with a statement about Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko, revealing his main difference from other players.
