Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, the midlaner of
Gaimin Gladiators, stated that Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov is not to blame for the team's losses and that it is the other players who are ruining the game for him.
He shared this during an interview with the YouTube channel Cap.
"We're currently in chaos in the game, but it's not Watson's fault. We took a break after TI13 and entered the season very shakily. Our performance at the first tournament was bad because everyone except Watson was trash. He was just being ruined. People say, 'You replaced Anton, Watson is trash and ruining the game.' But no — we ruined it for him"
The esports player admitted that the team might not have lived up to Watson's expectations, as there turned out to be a lot of issues within the roster, and the team has underperformed in several tournaments.
"Watson is a really nice and calm guy. I think he was surprised. Watson thought he was joining a team of bosses that would win, but instead, he ended up in chaos and a boiling cauldron of problems"
Nevertheless, Quinn emphasized that GG is trying to fix the situation. He also reminded that this kind of slump has happened before, but the team managed to bounce back.
"We didn't qualify for ESL One Bangkok, we’re losing almost every series, and there’s a lot of chaos in our gameplay. Lots of scrims, lots of bad results. We're trying to fix the issues, just like we have throughout most of my career"
As a reminder, Tal "Fly" Aizik previously spoke about the potential transfer of Artur "Arteezy" Babaev to
Gaimin Gladiators.
