The editors of Hawk.live highlighted the most important changes you should know after the update.
Main changes in patch 7.40:
Largo — a new melee strength hero. In patch 7.40 he immediately received Aghanim Scepter and Shard abilities, allowing players to build unique builds and help allies.
Collector's Cache — new cosmetic items added, including exclusive sets and rare hero appearances.
Map — 7 objects updated: Shrines of Wisdom now stand in water, base exits through defensive gates lead through waterfalls, and bridges got unique models.
Economy — reward for assists reduced, to increase the importance of kills and balance the gameplay more.
Aspects — ten heroes lost their aspects; developers left them without bonuses affecting abilities.
Neutral items — 9 new or reworked items added for neutral creeps, changing the game's strategy.
Talent tree — system changed: now choosing a talent does not take a skill point, making ability progression more flexible.
Rosh Timer — a new timer appeared, allowing more accurate tracking of the respawn of this neutral objective on the map.
Spectre — got a mini-rework: some abilities improved, making the hero more competitive in late game.
Morphling — became stronger with the new Ethereal Blade, enhancing his potential for finishing off enemies and controlling them.
Phantom Lancer — significantly weakened, his illusion creation now less effective, reducing overall hero damage.
Treant Protector — now viable as a carry, thanks to reworked abilities and increased damage/survivability.
Broodmother — became a new imba: spider effectiveness, attack speed and mobility increased.
Lone Druid — underwent a huge rework: abilities and bear interaction changed, completely altering the hero’s playstyle.
