Clement “Puppey” Ivanov said that he actually enjoys being a coach even more than being a player, and he switched roles because it became mentally hard for him to play pubs in Dota 2.

He talked about it during Gorgc stream.

“Being a coach I like a bit more than playing. There is reasons for that: when I was like 23, I press search, I get into game and there is some idiot breaking items or doing some stupid stuff, or some crazy guy screaming in mic — and I didnt care. But when I got older, I started thinking: ‘What am I even doing here?’”

Puppey said that it became hard for him to play with people who behave badly. According to him, the problem is not really them, but himself, because he is the one who keeps playing with them, so he decided to become a coach.

“I’m 50 years old and I play with 15-year olds who break items and sell accounts. What the hell am I doing here? And the problem is not the idiots or young players, it’s me. I cant be in this environment. It feels like that Steve Buscemi meme — ‘Yo, dude, Im just like you. I also play Dota 2’

It’s kinda funny, but mentally it’s hard when you have to keep doing this. One thing when you are 15 and you work as a waiter in bad cafe just to earn some money for hanging out with friends. But if I do the same thing after 30 years — something is probably wrong with me. So I started thinking about it. It’s not about money. It’s not worth it mentally”

The Dota 2 legend said that it was time for him to change, and he decided to become a coach. Puppey added that he even likes this role more than playing official matches, and believes his experience can help PARIVISION.
