Puppey admitted that he was supposed to play at The International 2023: what happened

Clement "Puppey" Ivanov, the captain of Team Secret, had planned to play for Team SMG at The International 2023 and practiced extensively with them. However, their fifth player secured a visa, and Puppey's services were not needed.

The Dota 2 legend made this revelation during an interview with Gosugamers.

"Before TI12, I played with Team SMG because I thought I would go to Seattle with them. However, their fifth player did not get a visa, so I didn't have to play with them. But I practiced with them for two weeks and learned a lot from that team"

In his own words, he confirmed the rumors that had circulated for a long time before the start of TI12. Many Dota 2 fans were expecting to see the living legend at the championship either as a coach or a player, but it did not happen. Earlier, MinD_ContRoL had made a statement about practicing together with Puppey.
