Everyone who played matchmaking in the past week noticed that their Dota 2 joint got 70 spots higher just because a lot of smurfs and mmr boosters got banned which also explains why everyone was getting ‘MMR reset spam’.

A Reddit user was the one who made the announcement along with a screenshot of the potential situation.

It was said by the user of a certain post that it was the case that they stopped playing the game since the last weekend. In the beginning before the bans were enforced they seemed to be ranked at the 600th spot on the leaderboards. But after the bans there has been a shocking achievement for them; their rank has jumped to the 529th position. This sudden improvement is because a ban and removal of most of the smurfs and boosters within rankings.

Which suggests that even those players who recently did not connect to their Dota 2 account really well their overall rating has increased quite significantly.

It’s also important to understand this was not the first time Valve banned several players, because previously they banned thousands of players from Dota 2 at the same time they released Frostivus 2024.
