Dota 2 Input lag

Input lag problems have arisen since the release of patch 7.38 in Dota 2. Players are now experiencing lag in real time, leading most of the community to complain about the development team.

One user on Reddit posted a video related to the issue.

As you may know, input lag refers to the delay between the user action, for instance clicking a mouse or keyboard key, and the computer responding to that action. This phenomenon greatly hinders gameplay. This was also seen recently in CS2, and it is growing to be a larger concern for esports players who experience quick responses.

The video shows that the character seems to execute actions with increased delay even while there isn’t any packet loss. The users on the forum confirmed that they are getting similar problems suggesting that lag, indeed, came with patch 7.38. Moreover, there have been complaints from esports players about sudden FPS drops and this currently serves as a point of pressure towards Valve.

Team Spirit previously named the worst aspect of the new patch 7.38 Dota 2.
