The average online Dota 2 has fallen below 400 thousand players for the first time since 2021, which has worried fans of the game.
This is evidenced by the data of the portal SteamCharts.
In April 2025, the average online was 393.1 thousand players. The last time this situation was observed in September 2021, when the indicators were similar. Many users in social networks expressed concern about the state of popularity of Dota 2, believing that the fate of the game is becoming uncertain.

Others, on the contrary, believe that the decline in online play will push Valve to pay attention to Dota 2 - the developers will start releasing more content and, perhaps, even return the Battle Pass.
Earlier, Valve responded to the Dota 2 hack by quickly closing the vulnerability in the game.
