Valve decided not to release a gameplay patch alongside Act 4 of Crownfall, which has disappointed many players and esports professionals.
While a new hero, Kez, was introduced to the game, the developers chose not to adjust the balance of other heroes or items. This could be due to the final stages of the DreamLeague Season 24 tournament.
There is a possibility that Valve might release patch 7.38 or 7.37e as early as next week, following the Dota 2 championship grand final. It’s worth noting that both esports players and matchmaking fans have been complaining for a while about the stagnant meta, and a gameplay patch is needed to refresh the public games.
Interestingly, alongside the release of Act 4 of Crownfall, Valve did release a gameplay patch - not for Dota 2, but for Deadlock, which also introduced a new hero.
As a reminder, Valve has finally launched Act 4 of Crownfall, allowing players to complete the full story event, play as the new hero, and earn unique rewards for completion.
