OverDrive spoke out about the VRS system in CS2

Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov is unhappy with the use of the VRS system in professional Counter-Strike 2 because it is very easy to abuse.

The analyst shared this opinion on Telegram.

"The VRS system is complete rubbish. It's very easy to abuse. A good example is Monte: they played in Tier 3 LANs, won all the online tournaments, and now they're in the Major. At the same time, BetBoom Team is playing everything in a row.

There are so many LANs now that if you work out the tournament schedule correctly, you can get to the Major in 3 months with a team that is not the strongest. This needs to be fixed.

On the other hand, the number of LANs will grow, and online tournaments will decrease. Only radar players and cheaters will remain online, and all serious organizations will only play LANs."

According to Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov, with the VRS system, even a team that is not the strongest can get to the Major in a few months if the tournament schedule is worked out correctly. As an example, the analyst cited the Monte team, which qualified for a major tournament by winning Tier 3 events. Nevertheless, OverDrive noted a positive trend in the increase in the number of LAN tournaments, which reduces the risk of cheating on the pro scene.

Earlier, Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov named the best coaches in professional Counter-Strike 2.
