Team Liquid technical director explained the situation:

"Valve didn’t want to force teams to play three matches in a single day, so Heroic had to face Yakutou Brothers/Nigma yesterday"

Consequently, fans and analysts had to quickly adjust their predictions, and the teams had to adapt to the new tournament conditions on the fly. Still, it remains unclear why no public announcement was made regarding these changes.
