NS talked about a new format of tournaments for Dota 2 in Turbo mode

Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov stated that there have been increasing attempts to promote new Dota 2 tournaments in Turbo mode, but he believes that while such competitions may sound fun, in reality, they would disappoint both players and viewers.

The streamer and former professional player net his presentation of opinions during the stream on Twitch.

"There are many debates about Turbo MMR tournaments, but it would certainly require balancing. Turbo mode, to make it good, would require balancing. At this point, everything is so unbalanced in turbo. It is made just for fun. If you want to play a fast paced Dota, then the same would require balancing. And to be honest, I think these Turbo tournaments could be very good in theory, but in real life, they would be rather dull"

NS from teams said that the same strategy is effective and all the viewers get to see the players, mostly the pros just farming the lanes with hardly any action or fun. The issue, he said, is that you do have to farm at some point otherwise you will lose the game.

“The current meta for Turbo is farming like there’s no tomorrow. Any roaming is a gamble. You leave your lane for three minutes to go and get some kills and when you don’t get wasting time like this, you stay at level 3 while the other guy is level 15. You just have to stick at the lane like all stop and don’t move any anywhere. Jumps or any kind of actions are always punished. A kill maybe leads to some gap closing but jumps without objectives leads to death in this mode. I have played numerous games of Turbo and therefore, I know what I am talking about"

NS was against holding such tournaments explaining how malpractices in such tournaments would be a potential disaster for the professional Dota 2 scene illustrating the gulf between Turbo and regular matchmaking games.

‘’Pro Turbo would be so boring that, I would rather not make the effort to play such a mode, not at least try it. There is no way within a competitive environment for the snowball in Turbo to ever be avoided. You get 5 kills and the score is now that team is ahead by about 5000 gold’’
