Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov said patch 7.38 is great not because of the new features like new mechanics or creeps that no one wants, but rather, because of the splendid rework of old features.
“In this patch, they didn’t really add anything major new. There is no new system. The river that speeds you up… that is just absurd. The extra frogs? Nobody cares. It is not exceptional, but they did a tremendous job on redoing the old patchs. Everything that had wisdom runes, lotus, and terrorblade (who is the only one on the map now) was well done. The same goes for Roshan, neutral items, the new courier, and everything else.
Everything that you look at was completed properly. Yes, it could have been far more advanced but if they did try, it would have taken longer the longer you studied it. All that was needed was to modify the features instead of reinventing them. That is really amazing, I like it a lot”
NS thinks the fans of Dota 2 will never care for the mechanics of the new river or the new amphibious creeps, but the reworked mechanics for wisdom runes, fountain, Roshan, and Tormentor are fantastic.
The streamer noted that patch 7.38 is extremely good and thanked the developers for considering the feedback from the Dota 2 community.
Remember, Alexander “Nix” Levin, gave Valve and patch 7.38 for Dota 2 some very unexpected criticisms in the past.
