Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov believes that Valve games began to lose quality after the release of Dota 2. The content maker named Half-Life: Alyx as the only worthy project, but added that it was also rather coolly received by the gaming community.
The streamer shared his opinion on Twitch.
“Deadlock is not wanted by anyone. It makes sense. Valve lost the vein of a game developer company some time ago. All their development accomplishments since Dota 2 are pretty questionable. Of questionable quality or timing. Artifact, Dota Underlords. Half-Life: Alyx is cool, but nobody seems to want it. VR tech isn't widely available yet. Deadlock is somewhere in the same place.”
It's worth noting that Deadlock, though it received varying grades from the gaming community, still managed to amass a record-breaking online following even before its official release. Moreover, many pro Dota 2 players praise the game, noting the similarities between the two projects. Nevertheless, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov has repeatedly expressed skepticism about the new MOBA-shooter from Valve.
Recall that earlier fans urged the developers from Valve to return the Recycle feature in Dota 2.
