Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov believes that Valve should not have increased the size of the map in Dota 2, as this has had a negative impact on the game in the long run.
The streamer shared his opinion on Twitch.
“In general, after a couple of years — and a couple of years have passed — I realized that increasing the map was a bad idea, really.”
The map changes in Dota 2 began with patch 7.33, released in April 2023, which was informally named “New Frontiers.” At that time that the map was enlarged by 40%, which was the biggest change in the game's history. Valve moved the runes, added new locations such as Lotus Pools, Twin Gates, and Watchers, and also moved Roshan.
As a reminder, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov previously spoke about the reasons for the failure of Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok's Eternal Dota League.
