Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov said that there’s no point expecting a new Dota 2 patch this year and it probably won’t come out before January, and the next event might even start in February
The streamer and former pro player wrote about this in his Telegram channel
“I dare to assume that the patch will release already in 2026, somewhere in January. Maybe January 15 or something like that. If something comes out this year — well, great, but I wouldn’t wait. Well, unless it's some micro-patch, a letter one, like +1 armor here and there”
NS noted that the DreamLeague 27 schedule was probably agreed with Valve, so it’s unlikely that a patch would drop in the middle of the tournament. He also reminded that Christmas in the US is an important holiday, same as New Year, so it’s unlikely developers will be working on an update at that time
“Yes of course, you also shouldn’t expect any New Year events, because we already have this GIGACOLLAB with Monster Hunter going on. It will last until February 8. The closest event you could kinda expect is something dedicated to Chinese New Year. It’s roughly in mid-February”
He also advised not to expect the next event to start in January 2026 — according to him, it will come out somewhere in the middle of February. He explained that this is because of the Monster Hunter collaboration and the next event will supposedly be tied to Chinese New Year
Earlier, Team Spirit mentioned the likely release date of the next Dota 2 patch.
