NS Dota 2 Patch 7.36

Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov, a streamer and former esports player, explained that Valve did not release Dota 2 gameplay patch 7.36 with Crownfall update in order to avoid confusing gamers and not divert attention.

“Naturally, the developers could include a balance fix as part of the patch but it’s also unnecessary since it distracts attention. You have some event going on, you got some cosmetics, arcanas, treasure chests and then you introduce changes to gameplay so people are confused about where they should look. It is obvious that Valve will not do anything like this”

He underlined that he expected it because event and patch are separate things in Dota 2. Therefore, he does not get why some users criticize Valve for their actions.

“I said that this would be the wrong patch for everyone waiting for it. Many people were expecting something like “New Horizons.” They thought “Oh boy here we go: two more double portals, three Roshans , nine Observers , eight Tormentors , fifteen runes , forty heroes etc.” I have said many times that an event and such a patch wouldn’t come out from Valve at the same time- these are two different events”

Moreover, NS mentioned treating Crownfall update as though Battle Pass for Dota 2 was being played around with by them therefore agreeing with Valve’s decision to keep both events apart.

“Think of this event as one big Battle Pass. I think there has never been a gameplay patch release date same as Battle Pass before by Valve. Although I could be mistaken. But if they did this would be wrong”

It is worth noting that the latest update in Dota 2 named Crownfall disappointed the gaming community resulting into criticism against game developers.
