Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov explained that Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov’s aggressive and chaotic playstyle allowed the rest of the roster to feel free, which is what helped the team win — and without him, the entire system fell apart.
The streamer and former pro player talked about this during a Twitch broadcast
“Remember Dyrachyo’s play — the esports legend. He was literally running all over the map as a carry and making people nervous: forcing TPs, making them run somewhere, save some support. Because of that, the other guys, Ace and Quinn and so on, got their kills and farmed, and the team was winning. People who don’t understand Dota said that Dyrachyo was ****. If you open comments under any Gladiators match around a year before he got kicked, you’ll see massive hate toward him. For people who don’t understand the game, it looked like the dude was an idiot. They didn’t understand what he was doing”
NS noted that many people thought Dyrachyo was doing nothing and just running across the map, while in reality he was making opponents nervous and creating space for his teammates. The streamer emphasized that many didn’t notice his work and even flamed him — but everything became clear after he left the team.
“When they kicked Antoha, everything fell into place. That doesn’t mean Ace, Tofu and the others couldn’t play. It’s just that their play was built around Antoha’s game. As soon as he left — the whole game collapsed. They had to rebuild for a long time. In the end, something started working when Watson joined, but it took a lot of time. Everything Ace and Quinn used to do stopped working because they got a standard carry who does standard things. Pure also likes to spin the map a bit. The main thing here is to feel the fine line. If it doesn’t bring value, then it’s not very good”
The streamer stressed that he wasn’t saying Dyrachyo’s teammates didn’t know how to play, but rather that they were used to performing in a system created by their unconventional carry. NS pointed out that when GG received a typical position 1 player, their system broke.
Earlier, it was reported that Aydin “Insania” Sarkoi will appear at a Dota 2 tournament — but with a nuance.
