NS stated that Dota 2 will soon face a serious competitor, where many players may go

Streamer and ex-esports athlete Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov claimed that Heroes of Newerth: Reborn can pose a substantial challenge to Dota 2 as a considerable portion of players may shift towards it.
He posted this information on his Telegram channel.
“Funny things can happen if HoN gets the attention it rightly deserves. Dota players can slowly start making the switch and if so, then who knows, everything can turn upside down. Personally, I find this hard to believe, and in the first place, I would not want that to happen much, considering how much I love Dota and the fact that I have only played HoN 1.5 times. But who knows, perhaps there is a new competitor that can push Valve to make a move, however mild it may be”
NS argued that predecessors of Dota copied Heroes of Newerth because it came out first, in fact, it looked a lot like the first one. He did, however, remind us that Valve managed to wipe out the competition because of to their massive marketing strategy and heavy spending on their multiplayer online battle arena. According to the streamer’s observations, these days they don’t focus much on the game anymore, so there is a chance that some Dota 2 users may switch to HoN.
However, NS wishes that does not occur, for the situation might prompt Valve to more pro-actively work on their game, add new patches, and new content for the MOBA.
Let me just remind you that Valve perhaps will release patch 7.38 within this week.
