Yevgeny "Noticed" Ignatenko believes that smurf accounts of professional players with a rating of 11-12 thousand MMR do not significantly harm the community.
The esports athlete made this statement in an exclusive interview with the YouTube channel Paragon Events Dota 2.
"There are two sides to all of this. I agree with cheats and hacks. Although, again, someone says it's a skin changer, not a skin changer—I honestly don't know what that is. But, I think there's a limit with accounts having 11-12 thousand MMR, where smurfs don't do much harm. If you attribute any harm to them, the only thing is that you hinder some other players from breaking into the top ladder. On the other hand, you can't secretly train heroes from opponents."
The esports athlete also stated that he would like to have the freedom to play on a legal smurf account. Notably, Noticed highlights lower emotional burnout compared to playing on the main account as the primary reason for using smurfs. However, according to the esports athlete's statement, in such a situation, players are less emotionally invested in the game.
A wave of bans from Valve has affected smurf accounts of many professional Dota 2 players and well-known streamers.
It's worth mentioning that earlier, Marcel "Ekki" Holoviienko confirmed rumors about his departure from
Team Secret's roster.
