Alexander "Nix" Levin said that Dota 2 is "dead" because of the matchmaking situation, and advised new players not to enter the game if they do not plan to become professionals.

The famous streamer said this during a broadcast on Twitch.

"Titan now starts at 7 thousand MMR? Considering that the top-1 player has 15 thousand - this is a very long way. You need to upgrade 9 thousand from your 5 thousand, and there are no more double bet tokens. I don't understand - you need to spend 10 years on this?

And the top-1 is no longer 15 thousand, but 17? This is completely ****. You need to disappear for 10 years to grind at +25 MMR. Just imagine how long it will take to rise from 5 to 17 thousand?

And even if you have a hypothetical good win rate, there will still be losing streaks. And 15 thousand is not even the top 100? Totally ****. Forget it, Dota is dead. Until Valve fixes matchmaking, it is dangerous to go there. Only if you want to get into eSports"

Nix noted the serious MMR inflation in the game and emphasized that players with a rating of 15 thousand are no longer even in the top 100. According to him, after the cancellation of double bet tokens, it will take years to rise from 7 to 17 thousand MMR, even with stable play.

He also said that Dota 2 is "dead" until Valve does a high-quality rework of the matchmaking system. However, the streamer did not specify what changes he considers necessary.

Recall that Nix previously explained why Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen decided not to return to the professional Dota 2 scene.
