Alexander "Nix" Levin, a streamer and former esports player, stated that there are too many tournaments in the Dota 2 pro scene, leading to burnout among tier-1 players, who literally have no time to rest.
He made this comment during a Twitch stream.
“Honestly, I don’t care about this version of Dota. Because matches are too frequent, you no longer look forward to them. In my opinion, quantity always detracts from quality. It’s better to focus on quality. I don’t like the current system because there are a million tournaments, non-stop, with the same matches”
Nix emphasized that there are so many matches that it impacts the overall quality. He noted that the sheer number of tournaments, with almost no breaks, causes teams to burn out and not perform at their best.
“For me, the best system was when there were three Majors. You could really get nostalgic for Dota 2 and watch teams that hadn’t burned out and were showcasing their best gameplay and cool strategies. That’s when you truly enjoyed every match”
Nix pointed out that before Valve's decision to cancel the DPC, the situation in the pro scene was better. According to him, viewers had time to get bored of matches, and then a Major would start, where teams showed their best form because they had the chance to rest and prepare properly for their performances.
Recall that Nix previously named the best team in the Dota 2 pro scene after the global reshuffle.
