Nix explained what the launch of League of Legends 2 could mean for Dota 2

Alexander «Nix» Levin said that the launch of League of Legends 2 in 2027 could hit Dota 2, because the only thing this game really loses in is graphics and the launcher.

“It’s very interesting to watch this, it really sounds like a new era. The only downside of this game is that it looks like a mobile game in terms of graphics and the launcher. If the devs improve the graphics better than in Dota and add their marketing — there will be no chance at all”

In his opinion, if Riot Games improve the graphics, the launcher and use their marketing power they will easily pull part of the Dota 2 audience to themselves. Nix believes this could push Valve to work more actively on the game, but reminded that they also have CS2, which is currently at the peak of popularity.
