Alexander “Nix” Levin stated that because of the oversaturated tournament schedule players started to treat competitions like team practice and they have lost their value.

The streamer said this during a Twitch broadcast.

“No, I didn’t watch. Tournaments every day. I’m sure today another tournament will start — Team Yandex and Spirit will play again and tomorrow it’s PARIVISION vs Spirit. There is no value in these endless matches anymore. You feel like you lose nothing. All teams already treat tournaments like scrims”

Nix admitted that he doesn’t even watch Dota 2 tournaments anymore because literally every day a new event starts or is already going on. According to him because of such a tight schedule the former value of competitions is gone.

In addition he pointed out that in the end the same teams keep winning since the participants almost never change. Nix emphasized that tournaments have lost value not only for esports players but also for viewers who don’t really lose anything if they miss one match.
