Alexander “Nix” Levin believes that Dota 2 is currently developing in the wrong direction, as the game has lost its variability and victory has become less dependent on personal skills.
The streamer shared his opinion in a private Twitch broadcast.
“I still don't like the current meta. I'd like to see Dota move towards haiskillism.
Anyone can play Centaur Warrunner that way. What's the big deal? You run around like a fool with 5,000 XP and press three buttons. Unfortunately, that's the most efficient way to play Dota right now. I wouldn't want it to evolve in that direction.
I understand Collapse, who hates this meta but is forced to play this way. His Dota tends to lean towards that. The variability is long gone. You have to play the way the meta tells you to play or you'll just lose, no matter how strong you are.”
With each new patch for Dota 2, developers add new mechanics to the game or simply change the balance of the game's meta drastically. However, recently, a lot of professional players have started to complain that the popular MOBA strategy game is slowly evolving towards simplification. The latest change was the addition of the hero Ringmaster, who in the first hours showed one of the highest winrates for new characters in Dota 2.
Earlier, Alexander “Nix” Levin shared his impressions of playing Deadlock, assessing the prospects of the new game from Valve.
