Alexander "Nix" Levin, a streamer and ex-esports athlete, said he is going to retire from Dota 2 completely, saying that he only plays the game out of a sense of obligation.

Nix talked about this issue on his stream on Twitch.

“I think it’s time for me to stop with Dota. I don’t know Maybe a patch could help, but I find it hard to accept that. Maybe I’m just meant to stop playing Dota. I’m a super emotional person, but it’s become so hard for me to watch it because I don’t even know what to latch onto. Everything is incredibly dull… I can’t say my perspective around Dota has changed for the better. Rather, it has changed for the worse because I find myself forcing myself to watch it. It’s pure inertia”

The streamer explained that he does not feel pleasure from the game anymore and it’s doubtful a patch would change anything. Nix expressed his appreciation to his viewers, but cautioned them that he will no longer stream the game, as he finds it disturbing.

“I’d like to send my heartfelt gratitude to all of my viewers. It's a pleasure to me and I’m really grateful for you choosing to watch my stream. However, I have come to a point where I feel I cannot do that anymore. Becoming a poker-faced robot or a gambling machine who averses from switching off the disgust-inducing game is something I cannot do. I’ll tell you this – The last think I want to do is point fingers at something else”

Let’s remember that Nix has already told us that he is leaving the Dota 2 covering tournaments and does not intend on coming back.
