Leon 'Nine' Kirilin stated that the opportunity to play for
Team Falcons helps a cyber athlete to get a feel for the pro scene without looking for a full-fledged team on a permanent basis. Nevertheless, the player was initially afraid to take on such a responsibility, but still decided to do so because his friends play on the roster.
The cyber athlete shared his relevant opinion in a post-match interview at PGL Wallachia Season 1 on the English-language Twitch broadcast of the tournament.
"A week ago I was asked to play as a substitute because they couldn't find anyone else.Initially I didn't want to because I felt too much responsibility, after all
Team Falcons is the best team. But then I realized that I could start playing again, and playing as a substitute is a good opportunity to feel the ground without committing myself to finding a team completely.
I probably wouldn't have accepted if it wasn't
Team Falcons. Because my friends are here, not because anyone is weak or anything like that. When I joined, it felt like I was the one who was here. And the guys, even though we haven't practiced, you can see that they're incredibly good. I don't know, it's crazy."
Leon 'Nine' Kirilin also added that he feels confident enough after a couple of matches played, although at the start of the tournament the former pro player felt unsure of his current meta after a long break.
Team Falcons won their first two matches of the tournament with their substitutes. Next the team will have to play against
Gaimin Gladiators.
