NiKo revealed why m0NESY agreed to play for Team Falcons

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač stated that it was exactly his departure and the worsening situation in G2 that helped Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov make the decision to move to Team Falcons.

The esports player shared this in an interview published on his YouTube channel.

“He decided to stay in G2 for some time, he didn’t want to transfer right away. Maybe G2 didn’t want to let him go at all at first. But one of the reasons he wanted to stay in G2 was also that we wouldn’t get to tier-1 events immediately and that was his main goal. But I think after my departure he gradually felt less comfortable in G2 because of how they were playing. I believe G2 results in some way helped him decide to join Falcons. That’s roughly how everything happened”

According to him he didn’t pull m0NESY with him, but constantly pointed out better conditions and the opportunity to reach new heights in Team Falcons. He suggests that his teammate maybe wanted to leave the team earlier but G2 might not have let him go.

Nevertheless NiKo emphasized that his departure and the decline in team results later pushed m0NESY toward the transfer. At the same time in 2025 the players still failed to win a tournament, although the sniper did receive an MVP medal.
