Nikola “Niko” Kovač said he was very happy for his team following their victory over Vitality at the IEM Cologne Major 2026. The esports player also highlighted the achievements of Finn “karrigan” Andersen, with whom
Team Falcons has made significant progress in their gameplay.
The player made these remarks on Twitch.
“I’m just happy for the team. Two months ago, Karrigan wasn’t even supposed to be playing here, and now we’re beating the Major favorites. Now we’re advancing to the semifinals. It’s a crazy story, but we’re not done yet.”
According to Nikola “Niko” Kovač, the victory over Vitality was hard-fought for
Team Falcons, but the esports player is proud that his team was able to defeat the top favorites of the CS2 pro scene. The player noted that the victory gave the team a huge confidence boost.
“It was a spectacular match. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy game against Vitality. It was a very long day... We fought like crazy. I’m incredibly proud of the guys. We kept our composure throughout the entire match. Toward the end, we lost some very tense rounds, but we stayed calm and made some good decisions in the end. Right now, I just feel a huge sense of relief.
We have tremendous confidence right now—we’ve had it since the group stage. We’ve had a lot of intense matches, and we made several comebacks during the group stage as well. We just wanted to repeat what we did in the group stage. Today, we pulled it off perfectly.”
