A new feature was added to CS2, but not everyone can use it

Valve released a new update for CS2, which introduced the X-Ray Scanner feature for players in Germany and the Netherlands, allowing them to preview what is inside cases.

This was reported on the game’s page in Steam.

Now the X-Ray Scanner tab appears in the inventory. This mechanic replaces the classic case opening system. With this feature, players can see what item is inside before opening it.

The developers had to take this step because of local laws, which restrict lootbox mechanics in games. The scanner also comes with a one-time exclusive item — Genuine P250 | X-Ray, which cannot be traded. You need to get it first to unlock access to the scanner.

For other players this feature is still not available, but it is possible that Valve may move away from the traditional case system in the future and fully replace it with a new system, although this is not confirmed yet.
