new dpc season and upcoming tournaments
The International 10 hype has subsided, and it's time for players and organizations to prepare for the next Dota Pro Circuit season. Reshuffles are already in full swing, everyone wants to have time to find a place for themselves before the roster lock.

When DPC season?

Despite the fact that Valve has not officially announced the exact dates of starting a new DPC season and roster lock, everyone is in a hurry to complete transfers and compile rosters. And they can be understood, given the situation last year. After all, then the developers, during the New Year's celebration, unexpectedly for everyone, announced the deadlines and published the new DPC rules.

Not everyone was ready for such a surprise, and the organizations urgently recruited players, just to have time to complete at least some squad. Unfortunately, there were also those players who did not manage to find a place for themselves and expected at least the opportunity to play as a substitute.

Now players and managers have a little more time. According to the manager of Alliance, Maria Gunina, the approximate dates will be as follows:

New DPC cycle:

First season: November 29 - December 22 and January 5 - 23 (there will be a break for Christmas and New Years)
First Major: February 17 - 27

Season Two: March 14 - April 24
Second Major: May 11 - 21

Season Three: June 6 - July 17
Third Major: August 4 - 14

Major dates are approximate. The length of the leagues is the same as last season. Valve seems to be satisfied with the format and are in no hurry to change anything.

Although the dates are approximate, they give an understanding that there is only a month left. But what about those who have already gathered and are ready to fight? Clanwar is for players and coaches. What should viewers and fans of Dota 2 do? Now is the time to organize a tournament!

What to watch and what the viewers is waiting for

At the moment, Dota 2 hosts matches with the participation of a range of 2-3 teams. Games of Asian teams at the Moon Studio Asian Tigers 2 tournament and European teams at ESL Meisterschaft Autumn 2021 are now available for watching. Bookmakers and national associations also organize their tournaments and leagues. But that still won't satisfy the demand of spoiled viewers after The International 2021.

In addition, some organizations would like to not only try their hand against other teams and test new strats, but also compete for several thousand dollars in prize money.

D2CL

The guys from Epic Esports Events hurried up the fastest. With the support of the Russian Cybersport Federation, they will hold the 5th season of the Dota 2 Champions League 2021 for tier 2 teams from Europe and CIS.

Dota 2 Champions League Season 5 participants:
  • Creepwave;
  • V-Gaming;
  • PuckChamp;
  • Brame;
  • Khan;
  • Nemiga.
Interesting fact: Creepwave announced the disbandment, we wrote about in our article. The organizers will probably invite another team or allow one more to go from the open qualifiers, registration for which is open until October 30.

Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 5 will take place online from 8 to 28 November. Ten teams from Europe and the CIS will take part in the tournament. They will compete for a prize pool of $50,000.

But there are no more official announcements and rumors about the holding of tournaments from other organizers. So, let's take a look at what the TO might have to offer based on their recent tournaments. Indeed, in the interval between WePlay AniMajor and The International 10, several tournaments were held.

BTS Pro Series

The series of tournaments from Beyond the Summit, BTS Pro Series, for Southeast Asia and America was a great show for the public and an arena for teams.

And although the size of the prize money for this series of tournaments does not differ in large amounts, the games do not get any worse from this.

Before TI10, the organizers held BTS Pro Series Season 7: Americas and BTS Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia. Both tournaments have a prize pool of $ 50,000.

Galaxy Racer won in Southeast Asia, and Team Undying won in the Americas.

OGA Dota PIT

One Game Agency organized competitions in Europe and China before the main tournament of the year. The best teams from the regions were invited, and in the case of the OGA Dota PIT Invitational, the top teams that came to prepare before TI10.

The prize pool for China and Europe was $150,000 and $275,000, respectively. Fact: both tournaments were won by the PSG.LGD team, which managed to win in China and fly to Europe. The total prize money for the team from both tournaments is $177,000. The audience, in turn, enjoyed the beautiful game.

ESL One

An ESL tournament is always an great event. And during the summer, there were two such events: ESL One Summer 2021 and ESL One Fall 2021 with $ 400,000 in prize money each. Qualifications, group stage and the best teams in the world - this is exactly what Dota 2 fans lacked in the absence of a festive mood before The International.

At the same time, it was not planned to hold a second tournament, however, due to the postponement of the aforementioned The International, the organizers promptly sent out an invitation to the teams and announced ESL One Fall 2021 at the end of summer.

The tournament was remembered for the gorgeous game and the victory of the Tundra Esports team, which could not pass the regional qualifiers at TI10. Although it's worth noting that their rivals in the grand final, PSG.LGD, played with coach xiao8 as a substitute for the entire tournament due to visa issues with NothingToSay. The spectators will remember Spirit Breaker on mid from the coach for a long time.

i-League 2021

For China dota fans, ImbaTV organized the second season of i-League 2021 at the end of summer with a prize pool of approximately $186,000.

In addition, the question “what to do while waiting for a visa to Romania” was closed for some local teams.

And besides, where would you see the final in which one of the teams constantly takes everyone's favorite Pudge and wins 3 games out of 4? Dendi approves of this!

And what about the others?

Now the attention of esports fans is focused on CS: GO. And it is not surprising, because PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which many have been waiting for, will begin soon.

Of course, after the Major in Kiev, people would like to see another major Dota 2 tournament from WePlay. It is unknown if we will see an announcement soon from any tournament organizer prior to the start of the DPC season. Or all that remains for us to observe is the news about reshuffles.
