2021 is coming to an end. All major tournaments have already ended, and DPC matches will not begin until after the New Year. This year has been successful for esports. Tournaments stats broke all records, and CIS spectators honored their champions.
It is important to note that we will be talking about tournaments. Dota Pro Circuit will not be mentioned here. Moreover, for some reasons, it is impossible to determine the view statistics in China. However, the available information is enough.
Most watched Dota 2 tournaments
The International 10
The International 10, as expected, broke all of its previous records. The tournament, which had been waiting for two years, was not ideal in organization. Moreover, COVID-19 still spoiled the plans and the stands of the football stadium Arena Nationala remained empty. But online broke last year's records: 107,238,917 versus TI9 with 88,785,044 hours watched .

It was no surprise that Team Spirit versus PSG.LGD in the grand final turned out to be the most popular. The match was watched by 2,741,514 spectators at peak.
WePlay AniMajor
WePlay AniMajor in Kiev certainly delighted the audience with its theme and atmosphere. Not everything was perfect, some complained about the delay between matches. However, it is worth paying tribute to the organizers, who were able to ensure the safety of all participants at the LAN tournament during the coronavirus period. And although the efforts were enormous, TO failed to break The Kiev Major 2017 record in views, gaining a total of 37 359 952 hours.

The match T1 against Evil Geniuses in the Lower Bracket Final was the most watched - 645,141 in the peak.
ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021

The first Dota 2 Major in 2021. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to come to Singapore. Natus Vincere and beastcoast players were diagnosed with COVID-19 and the teams could not fly to the tournament. Several teams were forced to look for a replacement for the same reason, after which the tournament was jokingly called Stand-in Major. In any case, ONE Esports Singapore gave spectators and players a lot of emotions. The tournament scored 20,626,202 view hours, and the incredible comeback of Invictus Gaming in the final against Evil Geniuses was watched by about 600,000 viewers.
ESL One Summer 2021
One of two major online tournaments organized by ESL between WePlay AniMajor and TI10. The teams have not left yet after the Major, and some decided to stay in Europe and wait for TI. So, the organizers caught a good moment and invited the teams to participate in the tournament. And, damn it, it was the most successful decision, from which not only TO and players won, but also the fans, who could again watch the battle of teams from all over the world.

ESL One Summer 2021 was held for only 4 days, when there was only the playoff stage. However, this did not prevent it from gaining 6,926,192 hours of views. The most watched was the grand final, Virtus.pro against T1. Fun fact, T1 had already bought tickets and were preparing to fly home on the final day, but because of the match they missed the plane. But the players were not upset, because 1st place and $ 175,000 in prize money were worth it.
ESL One Fall 2021

ESL One Fall 2021 already included the group stage, which was undoubtedly a plus. Some teams left, but not all. Therefore, the viewers were still interested in watching both the future TI10 participants and other famous teams. This tournament from ESL was watched by more viewers, which is confirmed by statistics: 8 379 723 hours of views. However, the peak in Tundra Esports final against PSG.LGD was less, 232,036 against 282,677 in the VP vs T1 match.
OGA Dota PIT Season 5: Europe/CIS

The last major online tournament for Europe and CIS teams. TO was not afraid and organized OGA Dota PIT Season 5 right during DPC league in 2021. The spectators were only delighted with the fact that they were able to see the matches between the teams of the two regions and evaluate the results after the reshuffles. Despite the pre-New Year bustle, the tournament scored 5,285,791 hours of viewing. And 233,275 spectators simultaneously watched the battle between Team Spirit and Tundra Esports.
OGA Dota PIT Invitational

Like the above tournaments from ESL, the OGA Dota PIT Invitational was held between the last major and the main tournament of the year. There was only the playoff stage, but for the audience this was not a reason to refuse to watch. Total: 3,338,942 viewing hours and 163,209 peak viewers.
BTS Pro Series Season 7

Beyond The Summit often organizes tournaments for Tier 1-2 teams. But unlike the previous ones, the 7th season of the BTS Pro Series for teams from America and Southeast Asia was the most successful. In fact, these are two tournaments for two regions. Nevertheless, this does not diminish the merits of TO, because the matches were watched by a lot of spectators. 1,589,638 and 2,663,951 viewing hours for America and Southeast Asia, respectively.
