Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov stated that he invested part of his prize money from The International 2021 in purchasing high-quality real estate, which is currently vacant. The esports player noted that he did not purchase a car because he considers it unnecessary.
The player shared this information on YouTube.
“I bought myself a couple of apartments. Three of them. It's okay. I wouldn't say they were particularly good purchases, but I just bought them, and they're sitting there. I didn't buy a car. I didn't buy a Twix factory either. It all turned out to be not as easy as I thought. A car is a completely useless thing, I don't see the point in buying one.”
At the same time, Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov added that he was able to save most of his money, but still tried to invest in business ideas. According to the player, some of the investments were successful, but the rest did not bring any profit. Although the player admits that he is better at playing Dota 2 than investing, he would still like not only to save money but also to multiply it, which is why he sought advice from professionals.
"I hardly spent any money. Only on some incredible business ideas. Some of them worked out, and some didn't. 50-50. After all, I'm more of a gambler than an investor, so there were mistakes. But I've definitely become more knowledgeable about it. I'm just trying to make sure my money doesn't just sit in the bank, but somehow works and brings in a profit. I studied the subject a little and consulted with those who know about it. I made a couple of mistakes, and from that experience, I realized where I was wrong."
Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov won a record amount of prize money in Dota 2 history with
Team Spirit at The International 2021. The team received $18,208,300 for first place.
